As this website goes live I wish to extend my heartfelt thanks to the committee, contributors, organisers, viewers and participants. Through your engagement and support you are celebrating with us the Maryknoll heritage and values. 100 years! I hope the many events and sharing will rekindle your memories of the good times, of what made you laugh and cry, fall and stand up again as we grow as individuals. 
 
We remain indebted to the Maryknoll Sisters who crossed the oceans more than a century ago to serve.  A story of faith, love, idealism, daring to risk, and fearlessness in offering themselves to those in need.  
 
As a Maryknoller, I feel proud and fortunate to be able to bear witness to the centenary of Maryknoll Convent School. What an amazing privilege. Together, may the Maryknoll community revel in the celebrations, and reach out to home, to country and to the world, guided by the cherished values of Maryknoll. Sola Nobilitas Virtus.

My heartfelt congratulations to Maryknoll Convent School on its 100th Anniversary.

“十年樹木, 百年樹人” It requires teachers and schools to spend a lot of time and effort to cultivate a person with upright views, a deep interest in various activities, and who contributes to society.

When I started this centenary fundraising campaign two years ago, whenever I talked to or consulted with people from different sectors, I discovered that there was always an alumni or someone who has a connection to Maryknoll. For nearly a century, Maryknoll’s graduates have gone on to distinguish themselves as leaders and innovators across the world.

During the forthcoming celebratory events marking the centenary of MCS, I shall remember and celebrate the school’s history, legacy, and commitment to education.

There’s a Chinese saying ‘十年樹木 百年樹人’.

Maryknoll Convent School has had a significant impact on the wider community over the past century. Through its commitment to education and service, the school has nurtured countless young minds who excelled in various areas and contributed to home, to country and to the world.

The Centenary of Maryknoll Convent School is a good opportunity to pay tribute to the Maryknoll Sisters. Had these amazing trailblazers not ventured to the Far East from America a century ago, we would not have had the privilege of receiving quality and affordable education at such an awe-inspiring campus and establish with the sisters, lifelong ties - not to mention those iron-clad friendships that have been forged with schoolmates and teachers.

The Maryknoll Sisters have also contributed in countless other ways to Hong Kong society. The ripples of their dedication and compassion is what makes “Maryknoll” known and loved.

Soon the school will be entering a new century - isn’t it exciting to witness this monumental moment together? The Maryknoll Convent School Former Students’ Association takes pride in connecting alumnae, the school and the Maryknoll Sisters since 1950. While we celebrate with joy the 100th birthday of our beloved alma mater, it is also the 75th anniversary of the MCSFSA in 2025. We can now celebrate with Maryknollers around the world online too.
